Who we are
This website is run by MiBiCube Limited, a company registered in Ireland under company number 671223. Our VAT number is IE3697287TH.
We decide how and why the personal data described here is used, so we are its controller under the GDPR. For anything about privacy, email info@mibicube.com.
In short
- We only use analytics cookies, from Microsoft Clarity and Google Analytics, if you click Accept. If you click Reject or don't choose, neither tool loads.
- We don't use advertising cookies, and we don't sell your data.
- We send basic request logs from our web host to Microsoft Clarity so we can see how search engines and AI crawlers use the site. This uses no cookies.
- You can change your cookie choice at any time.
Cookies and analytics
If you agree, we use two analytics tools to understand how people find and use the site, so we can improve it.
Microsoft Clarity
Clarity records how you use our pages: the pages you visit and your clicks, taps, scrolling and mouse movements, which it shows us as heatmaps and session replays. It also collects details of your device, such as browser, operating system and screen size, and your approximate location (country), worked out from your IP address. This site has no forms or text boxes, so Clarity can't capture anything you type. Clarity is provided by Microsoft; see the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
Google Analytics
Google Analytics 4 gives us statistics such as how many people visit, which pages they view, how long they stay, how they found us (for example through a search engine or another website), and their device, browser, language and approximate location. Google Analytics 4 doesn't log or store IP addresses. Through Google Consent Mode we tell Google that advertising cookies, ad personalisation and sharing data for advertising are not allowed. Google Analytics is provided by Google Ireland Limited; see how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Legal basis
We use these tools only with your consent, as required by Regulation 5(3) of the ePrivacy Regulations 2011 (S.I. No. 336 of 2011), and we rely on that consent under Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR. Until you click Accept, neither tool loads and no analytics cookies are set.
Cookies and similar storage
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
mibicube-consent(local storage) | MiBiCube | Remembers your cookie choice. It is strictly necessary, so it doesn't need consent. It stays in your browser and is never sent to us. | We ask again after 6 months |
_clck | Microsoft Clarity | Keeps your Clarity user ID for this site | 1 year |
_clsk | Microsoft Clarity | Links your page views into one session | 1 day |
CLID, MUID, MR, SM, ANONCHK | Microsoft, on clarity.ms and bing.com | Third-party cookies that recognise your browser across sites that use Clarity and across Microsoft services | Up to 13 months |
_ga | Google Analytics | Distinguishes visitors | 2 years |
_ga_C5J30H2SBW | Google Analytics | Keeps track of your current visit | 2 years |
The Clarity and Google Analytics cookies are only set after you click Accept. Your browser may delete them sooner; Safari, for example, removes them after 7 days without a visit.
Changing your choice
Use the button below, or Cookie settings at the bottom of the page, to change your choice at any time. If you withdraw consent, we delete the Clarity and Google Analytics cookies on our domain and stop loading both tools. This doesn't affect data collected before you withdrew. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If JavaScript is turned off, our analytics never load.
Server logs shared with Microsoft Clarity
The site is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and delivered by Amazon CloudFront. Like any web server, CloudFront uses your IP address and the details of your request to send you the page.
We send CloudFront's request logs to Microsoft Clarity's bot analytics, which shows us how search engines and AI crawlers use the site. Each record holds the date and time, your IP address and country, the address of the page requested, the referring page, your browser's user agent and technical details of the response. This happens for every visit, whether or not you accept analytics cookies, because it uses no cookies and reads nothing from your device. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in understanding and protecting traffic to our site (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR), and you can object to it (see Your rights).
If a delivery to Microsoft fails, the affected records are kept in our AWS account for 30 days and then deleted automatically. We don't keep any other web server access logs.
If you email us
If you email info@mibicube.com, we use your name, email address and anything you include in your message to reply to you and, if you go ahead, to work with you. Our legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) or our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Article 6(1)(f)). We keep enquiry emails only for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up, unless they become part of a client project.
Who receives your data
- Microsoft: Clarity analytics, only if you accept, and the server logs described above.
- Google: Google Analytics, only if you accept.
- Amazon Web Services: hosting and delivery of the site.
- Our email provider: stores the emails you send us.
We don't sell personal data or use it for advertising. You don't have to give us any personal data, and we don't make automated decisions about you.
Transfers outside the EEA
Microsoft, Google and Amazon may process data in the United States. Our CloudFront logs, for example, pass through AWS in the US on their way to Microsoft. These transfers rely on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, under which all three companies are certified, or on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long data is kept
- Microsoft Clarity: session recordings for 30 days; heatmaps, click data and recordings we label or save for 9 months.
- Server logs sent to Clarity: up to 9 months at Microsoft, Clarity's limit for the data it shows us; failed deliveries for 30 days in our AWS account.
- Google Analytics: user- and event-level data for no more than 14 months, the longest retention period Google Analytics allows. Aggregated reports that don't identify you are kept for longer.
- Your cookie choice: 6 months, then we ask again.
- Emails: as described above.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- correct data that is wrong
- delete your data
- restrict how we use it
- give you your data in a format you can take elsewhere
You can object at any time to processing based on our legitimate interests, such as the server logs described above. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
To use any of these rights, email info@mibicube.com. We will reply within one month. Analytics data is linked to a random ID rather than your name, so we may need your help to find yours.
You can also complain to the Data Protection Commission, at www.dataprotection.ie or 21 Fitzwilliam Square South, Dublin 2, D02 RD28, Ireland.
Changes to this policy
We will post any changes on this page and update the date at the top. If we add a new analytics tool, we will ask for your consent again.
